At Dawn Interiors we believe that developing the budget should be a partnership between us and the client. As the client, you should take an active role, and be honest with us about your budget. As professional designers we will access your needs and help you to determine where to spend and where to save, prioritizing expenses while creating an interior that is within your budget.
Also, remember that not everything has to be completed at once. We can develop a long-range plan, consulting with you to establish a list of priorities, starting with rooms you feel need attention first, and determine a time line for accomplishing the entire project. Working within the constraints of your budget, we will draw up a scheme that expresses your personal style and meets your individual requirements, while at the same time helping you to avoid costly errors by making wise purchases that fit your framework.
Do take in mind that the cost of projects will be determined by the following aspects:
The size of the project, e.g. one room versus the whole house; The time frame in which the project needs to be completed, e.g. two weeks or two months.
So often, simple changes and additions can make a huge difference. A room can be transformed with the impactful use of colour, rearrangement of existing furniture, the introduction of atmospheric lighting or mirrors, clever and creative choice of window treatments, accessories, cushions and throws, none of which need cost the earth.
- Interior Decorating and Design Consulting: $50 per hour, 1 hour minimum. Includes paint color selection, color scheme development, preparation of a presentation boards etc.
- Mileage: $0.50 per km.
- Basic Blind Installation: $10.00 each (Special charges apply for installing into concrete, metal, for windows that are place over 8’ from the floor, oversized blinds and complicated windows.)
- Drapery Installation: $40.00 per hour.
We do prepare quotes for blinds, drapery, curtains, valances, bedding and cushions at no cost.
At Dawn Interiors we will draw up a contract (also called a letter of agreement) to define the scope, budget and time frame of the particular project, as well as our responsibilities. We believe that contracts are important, because it gives you, the client, peace of mind, and ensures clear and professional working guidelines.
